Refund policy

This Return & Refund Policy applies to bookings and jewellery purchases made with Soni Rameshchandra Himmatlal & Bros (“Rameshchandra Himmatlal”).

1. Online Booking Amount

The Rameshchandra Himmatlal website allows customers to reserve certain available jewellery designs by paying a ₹500 booking amount.

The ₹500 amount is a reservation payment only and is not the full purchase price of the jewellery.

After a successful booking, a member of the Rameshchandra Himmatlal team will contact the customer to confirm the reservation and coordinate the next steps.

2. Adjustment of Booking Amount

If the customer proceeds with the purchase of the booked jewellery, the ₹500 booking amount will be adjusted against the final bill issued at the store.

The final jewellery price will be determined at the time of final billing based on the applicable metal rate, actual weight, purity, making charges, stones or other materials, applicable taxes and any other relevant charges.

3. Cancellation of an Online Booking

If a customer is unable to proceed with a booking due to an unavoidable reason, the customer may contact Rameshchandra Himmatlal and request cancellation.

Once the cancellation has been communicated and confirmed with the Rameshchandra Himmatlal team, the ₹500 booking amount will be refunded at the Rameshchandra Himmatlal store.

4. Returns After Completion of Purchase

Once the jewellery purchase has been completed at the store, Rameshchandra Himmatlal does not generally provide a cash refund merely because the customer subsequently changes their mind.

Customers wishing to return a purchased jewellery piece may instead request an exchange, subject to assessment by Rameshchandra Himmatlal.

Nothing in this policy restricts any remedy or right that a customer may have under applicable consumer law in relation to defective, incorrectly supplied or materially misrepresented goods.

5. Exchange of Gold Jewellery

Jewellery accepted for exchange will be valued based on the gold value applicable at the time of exchange, following inspection and verification by Rameshchandra Himmatlal.

The exchange value may therefore differ from:

  • the original invoice value;
  • the amount originally paid;
  • the gold rate prevailing on the original date of purchase; or
  • the value displayed on the Rameshchandra Himmatlal website.

The applicable exchange valuation will be communicated to the customer before the exchange is completed.

Where a jewellery piece includes diamonds, stones or other materials in addition to gold, the treatment and valuation of such components, if applicable, will be explained by Rameshchandra Himmatlal at the time of assessment.

6. Customised, Altered or Resized Jewellery

Custom-made, customised, altered or resized jewellery may also be considered for exchange.

Any such exchange will be assessed by Rameshchandra Himmatlal and will be based on the applicable gold value at the time of exchange, subject to verification of the jewellery.

Customisation charges, making charges and other amounts originally paid are not automatically treated as part of the gold value for exchange purposes.

7. Inspection and Verification

Rameshchandra Himmatlal may inspect the jewellery before accepting an exchange to verify matters including its:

  • identity;
  • purity;
  • weight;
  • condition; and
  • other relevant characteristics.

Customers are requested to produce the original purchase invoice or other purchase information wherever available to assist with verification.

8. Final Exchange Value

The exchange will proceed only after the applicable valuation has been communicated to the customer.

If the customer selects another jewellery piece of a higher value, the customer will be required to pay the difference.

Any other settlement, adjustment or difference arising from the exchange will be explained by Rameshchandra Himmatlal before the transaction is completed.
